Job Description

Main Purpose:

Provide overall administrative and technical management on construction project sites.  Responsibilities will include bid preparation, scheduling, and on-site management.
This position will work closely with Project Superintendent and field roles to accomplish the work safely, on time, and on budget. Position has direct profit and loss responsibility.

  • Regional Project Manager, Regional VP

  • Customers, Vendors, Suppliers

Specific Role Responsibilities:

  • Initial client contact to assess scope of work and resources required to successfully complete project
  • Work with estimating team to determine costs of work, assemble competitive analysis, and determine manpower and equipment needs to safely and successfully complete the work
  • Prepare estimates and work plans with detailed review of proposal specifications, drawings, takeoff information, contracting
  • Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is completed in accordance with budget and schedule by monitoring construction schedules, milestones, job progress and completion
  • Includes interfacing with customer representatives, other contractors, etc.
  • Plan, coordinate and supervise onsite functions (scheduling, engineering,)
  • May directly Supervise craft employees and/or other contractors as required by the contract
  • Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required.
  • Initiate and maintain extra work estimating and change orders
  • Identify new and expanded business opportunities while at customer sites and through customer contacts

 

Job Requirements

Experience / Capabilities:

  • 75% travel
  • Preferred Four year Construction Management, or Construction Engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience
  • Minimum of 1-3 years construction management, estimating, and/or craft supervision experience in similar trades or construction environment
  • Experience with demolition work required
  • Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills essential
  • Ability to track actual costs and compare against established budget
  • Ability to problem solve and react quickly to changes
  • Computer/Office Machines – Microsoft Work, Excel, Outlook
  • English – proficient in business writing and verbal communication
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record required when duties require use of motor vehicle
  • Strong Financial Aptitude
  • Ability to manage projects on a day to day basis including but not limited to RFI’s, change orders, and /or scope deviation.
  • Can communicate well with Field Personnel or customers /General Contractors
  • Knowledgeable on Time and Material billing
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random screening for illegal substances
