Job Description

Main Purpose:

Provide overall administrative and technical management on construction project sites.  Responsibilities will include day to day management, quantity tracking, and productivity analysis and improvements.  This position will work closely with Project Superintendent and field roles to accomplish the work safely, on time, and on budget.

Internal

  • Regional Project Manager, Regional VP  

External

  • Customers, Vendors, Suppliers

 

Specific Role Responsibilities:

  • Client contact to assess scope of work and resources required to successfully complete project
  • Work with estimating team to determine costs of work, assemble competitive analysis, and determine manpower and equipment needs to safely and successfully complete the work
  • Prepare estimates and work plans with detailed review of proposal specifications, drawings, takeoff information, contracting
  • Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is completed in accordance with budget and schedule by monitoring construction schedules, milestones, job progress and completion
  • Includes interfacing with customer representatives, other contractors, etc.
  • Plan, coordinate and supervise onsite functions (scheduling, engineering, etc)
  • May directly Supervise craft employees and/or other contractors as required by the contract
  • Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required.
  • Initiate and maintain extra work estimating and change orders
  • Identify new and expanded business opportunities while at customer sites and through customer contacts

Experience / Capabilities:

  • 50-75% travel

 

Job Requirements

  • Preferred Four-year Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Construction Engineering degree
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in construction management, estimating, and/or craft supervision experience in similar trades or construction environment
  • Experience with demolition work preferred
  • Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills essential
  • Ability to track actual costs and compare against established budget
  • Ability to problem solve and react quickly to changes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suites
  • English – proficient in business writing and verbal communication
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record required when duties require use of motor vehicle
  • Strong Financial Aptitude
  • Ability to manage projects on a day to day basis including but not limited to RFI’s, change orders, and /or scope deviation.
  • Can communicate well with Field Personnel or customers /General Contractors
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random screening for illegal substances
