JOB DESCRIPTION

The successful candidate will be a self -starter whom is highly outgoing, expected to be professional when dealing with and interacting with clients. Candidate will have the ability to work independently and in a team environment and be expected to execute a high volume of personal client interactions. Candidate must be diligent and thorough in planning, developing, coordinating and managing onsite construction activities. 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  • Must be able to learn and understand Diamond Profile Grinding and Grooving market in assigned territory.
  • Strong understanding of the contract process with Cal Trans and Municipal type work including procurement processes, contractual obligations, proposal writing and claims process.
  • Maintain relationships and increase sales to existing customer base within assigned territory.
  • Must be able to learn and understand current competitors, market pricing and Penhall Company’s role in the marketplace.
  • Identify prospective customers to promote and sell company services through direct customer contacts within assigned territory for development of new business.
  • Analysis of current market and opportunities within the various lines Penhall Company offers in the road and highway specialty services.
  • Strong negotiation skills to close opportunities and to work to a win – win on change of condition or character on projects.
  • Manage marketing budgets, sales objectives, and forecasts within assigned territory.
  • Present new contract proposals, contract bids, assist in strategy for negotiating contract changes. Ensure all terms and conditions of the contract are met using established procedures.
  • Respond to customer needs, requests and questions regarding service and account information to ensure consistent customer service and satisfaction.
  • Make cold calls as required in representative’s designated sales area as well as lead and mentor Account Managers.
  • Perform any additional assignments per the Business Develop Managers direction
  • Develop and maintain relationships both inside and outside of Penhall Company.
  • Participate in the growth of field, shop, research & development teams to match market share influence.

 

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of sales related experience in a similar industry
  • Four-year business or technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience to have a good working knowledge of language used in our industry
  • Electronic and or paper plan-reading and specifications are required
  • Must be a strategic Initiative driver and facilitator – cradle to grave mentality
  • Must possess the ability to work independently, successfully and with others as a team
  • Must possess excellent time management, presentation and communication skills
  • English proficiency in business writing and verbal communication
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random screening for illegal substances
