Job Description

Main Purpose:

Penhall Company has an immediate opening for a full time Diesel Mechanic to join our team.

We are looking for a Diesel Mechanic with experience maintaining and repairing a fleet of Ford F series construction vehicles as well as,  Kenworth & Peterbilt Tractors & Equipment Trailers.

Also, diagnose, repair and maintain specialty gas & diesel equipment as well as a fleet of Gas, diesel & electric concrete saws.

Interaction With:

Management, Drivers, Equipment Operators

Specific Role Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe working environment while providing quality work standards & equipment readiness.
  •  
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a fleet of Ford F550 Diesel Service trucks.
  •  
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair, a fleet of Gas, Diesel & electric  concrete cutting saws and core drilling equipment.
  •  
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and repair programs.
  •  
  • Repair and fabrication of equipment,  performing basic to advanced MIG welding.
  •  
  • Interact with field operators as a technical expert and adviser with equipment & how to tag it out of service due to Safety & mechanical issues.
  •  
  • Perform additional assignments as requested by your supervisor

Travel:

  • Travel out of state for repairs maybe required if needed but not typical.

Job Requirements

  • Must be safety oriented in all aspects while repairs are in process. Wear proper PPE while performing repairs Safety Glasses, ear plugs (when Noisy) dust mask, gloves etc.
  •  
  •  3 - 5 years' experience working with Light, Heavy Vehicle & industrial construction equipment And Trailers.
  •  
  • Previous experience working with diesel engines, electrical and hydraulic repair is a must.
  •  
  • Experienced in basic to advanced MIG welding is a must.
  •  
  • Must possess practical knowledge of the function, operation, and maintenance of vehicle & construction equipment.
  •  
  • Work in inclement weather in and around repair facility.
  •  
  • Ability to work both days / weekends (if asked) & extended hours, and overtime as needed.
  •  
  • Strong sense of urgency with a focus on quality and safety.
  •  
  • Physical exertion required. Including, but not limited to, walking, standing, stooping, bending and lifting up to 90 pounds.
  •  
  • Ability to effectively communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
